1818 AN ACT CONCERNING PREVAILING WAGE FOR MUNICIPAL
1919 CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS.
2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That section 31-53 of the general statutes be amended to allow 1
2424 municipal construction projects to be exempt from the prevailing wage 2
2525 requirements when the municipality can demonstrate, by a majority 3
2626 vote of the legislative body of that municipality, that adhering to the 4
2727 prevailing wage requirements will cause an undue financial hardship, 5
2828 including, but not limited to, instances where health and safety would 6
2929 be jeopardized by a project not being completed due to a lack of 7
3030 sufficient funds to pay costs associated with prevailing wage 8
3131 requirements. 9
3232 Statement of Purpose:
3333 To create an exemption from the prevailing wage requirements for
3434 municipalities experiencing undue financial hardships.
