AN ACT CONCERNING CERTAIN ADJUSTMENTS TO THE ASSESSED VALUE OF REAL PROPERTY. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That section 12-111 of the general statutes be amended to prohibit any 1 tax assessor from increasing or decreasing the assessed value of real 2 property prior to the next revaluation of such property unless such 3 increase or decrease (1) is required to comply with a court order, (2) 4 reflects a change in assessed value because of an addition or new 5 construction on such property, (3) reflects a change in assessed value 6 due to damage or demolition on such property, or (4) is made in 7 connection with the issuance of a certificate of correction by the assessor 8 to correct a factual error concerning such property. 9 Statement of Purpose: To prohibit tax assessors from increasing or decreasing the assessed value of real property between revaluation cycles.
