AN ACT CONCERNING GRANTS FOR REMOVAL OF PFAS FROM
FIRE APPARATUS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That any funds remaining under subdivision (10) of subsection (b) of 1
section 41 of public act 23-204 at the conclusion of the fiscal year ending 2
June 30, 2025, shall not lapse on June 30, 2025, and such funds shall be 3
available to the Department of Emergency Services and Public 4
Protection, for Other Expenses, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, 5
to provide grants to municipalities, independent fire companies and 6
state agencies to remove PFAS from fire apparatus or provide 7
reimbursement for removal of PFAS from fire apparatus that occurred 8
prior to July 1, 2023. 9
Statement of Purpose:
To establish that certain funds shall not lapse on June 30, 2025, and shall
be available to the Department of Emergency Services and Public
Protection to provide grants to municipalities, independent fire
companies and state agencies to remove PFAS from fire apparatus or
provide reimbursement for removal of PFAS from fire apparatus that
occurred prior to July 1, 2023.
