AN ACT REQUIRING A FAIR RENT COMMISSION DISMISS CERTAIN 
CASES. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That section 7-148c of the general statutes be amended to require a 1 
fair rent commission to dismiss a case when the rent increase for a 2 
dwelling unit is less than or equal to the fair market rental value for 3 
comparable dwelling units in the same area of the municipality where 4 
the property is located, regardless of the amount of the rent increase. 5 
Statement of Purpose:   
To require a fair rent commission to dismiss any case when the rent 
increase for a dwelling unit is within the fair market rental value for 
comparable dwelling units in the neighborhood where the property is 
located.
