1818 AN ACT REQUIRING A FAIR RENT COMMISSION DISMISS CERTAIN

2020 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2121 Assembly convened:

2323 That section 7-148c of the general statutes be amended to require a 1
2424 fair rent commission to dismiss a case when the rent increase for a 2
2525 dwelling unit is less than or equal to the fair market rental value for 3
2626 comparable dwelling units in the same area of the municipality where 4
2727 the property is located, regardless of the amount of the rent increase. 5
2828 Statement of Purpose:
2929 To require a fair rent commission to dismiss any case when the rent
3030 increase for a dwelling unit is within the fair market rental value for
3131 comparable dwelling units in the neighborhood where the property is
3232 located.
