REP. MASTROFRANCESCO, 80th Dist. AN ACT REQUIRING PARENTAL NOTIFICATION PRIOR TO THE TERMINATION OF A PREGNANCY BY A MINOR. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require that, prior to the 1 termination of a pregnancy by a minor, the parent or guardian of any 2 minor who seeks to terminate such pregnancy is notified, provided such 3 minor may seek and receive court approval to terminate the pregnancy 4 without such notice in a proceeding that ensures the minor's anonymity 5 and is conducted with sufficient expedition to allow her to terminate the 6 pregnancy. 7 Statement of Purpose: To ensure that the best interests of a minor are protected when facing an unplanned pregnancy.
