AN ACT CONCERNING ACCOUNTABILITY FOR HOSPITAL TAX
DELINQUENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 12 of the general statutes be amended to impose additional 1
penalties on hospitals that fail to pay taxes, including, but not limited 2
to, loss of Medicaid eligibility after a six-month grace period. 3
Statement of Purpose:
To safeguard state tax revenues, promote fiscal responsibility and
uphold the equitable distribution of Medicaid funds for public benefit.
