2020 AN ACT CONCERNING PATIENT CHOICE AND CONTINUITY OF
2121 CARE DURING HEALTH INSURANCE CONTRACT DISPUTES.
2222 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2323 Assembly convened:

2525 That chapter 700c of the general statutes be amended to allow any 1
2626 covered person under a health insurance policy that is the subject of a 2
2727 health care contract dispute between such covered person's health care 3
2828 provider and the health insurer, resulting in such health care provider 4
2929 being deemed out-of-network, to terminate such policy and enroll in a 5
3030 new health insurance policy that provides in-network coverage, without 6
3131 any early termination fees, financial penalties, increased premiums, 7
3232 increased out-of-pocket expenses, changes in coverage or coverage 8
3333 gaps. 9
3434 Statement of Purpose:
3535 To allow any covered person under a health insurance policy that is the
3636 subject of a health care contract dispute between such covered person's
3737 health care provider and the health insurer, resulting in such health care
3838 provider being deemed out-of-network, to terminate such policy and
