AN ACT RECOGNIZING SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER AS AN 
OCCUPATIONAL DISEASE. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That section 31-275 of the general statutes be amended to amend the 1 
definition of "occupational disease" to include substance use disorder 2 
when the employee is affected by repetitive strain injuries in the 3 
workplace. 4 
Statement of Purpose:   
To include substance use disorder in the definition of "occupational 
disease" for the purposes of workers' compensation.
