AN ACT REQUIRING NURSING HOMES AND ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES TO BE EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS AND TO HAVE A PLAN FOR THEIR USE DURING EMERGENCIES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That the general statutes be amended to require nursing homes and 1 assisted living facilities in the state to be equipped with an automatic 2 external defibrillator and to have a plan for their use during an 3 emergency, staff training in their use and regular maintenance of the 4 devices. 5 Statement of Purpose: To ensure that nursing homes and assisted living facilities are prepared to provide life-saving care when necessary.
