AN ACT CONCERNING HOSPITAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to (1) require the Healthcare 1
Advocate to develop an online hospital financial assistance portal for 2
patients and their family members, (2) allow the Healthcare Advocate 3
to post information regarding the state's medical debt erasure initiative 4
on the Office of the Healthcare Advocate's Internet web site, and (3) 5
require each hospital that maintains a financial assistance program to 6
provide the Healthcare Advocate with the link to the Internet web site 7
relating to such program, if applicable. 8
Statement of Purpose:
To promote the awareness and use of hospital financial assistance
programs and the state's medical debt erasure initiative.
