AN ACT CONCERNING EXPLANATORY TEXTS REGARDING
PROPOSED CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 2-30a of the general statutes be amended to (1) allow the 1
joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of 2
constitutional amendments to amend any explanatory text prepared by 3
the Office of Legislative Research under said section, and (2) require a 4
unanimous vote of such committee in order to approve such 5
explanatory text for public distribution by the Secretary of the State. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To (1) allow the legislative committee responsible for approving any
proposed constitutional amendment explanatory text to amend such
explanatory text prior to such approval, and (2) require unanimity in
any such approval by such committee.
