12	19		AN ACT CONCERNING THE SELECTION OF CONTRACTORS FOR
13	20		PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS.
14	21		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
15	22		Assembly convened:

17		-	Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2025) Notwithstanding the 1
18		-	provisions of sections 4a-57 and 4a-59 of the general statutes, a 2
19		-	contracting agency shall give preference to manufacturers, fabricators 3
20		-	and erectors located within the state when selecting a contractor to 4
21		-	award a contract for the construction, reconstruction, alteration, 5
22		-	remodeling, repair or demolition of any public building or other public 6
23		-	works projects administered by the state or its agents and, if no such 7
24		-	manufacturer, fabricator or erector is available, to manufacturers, 8
25		-	fabricators and erectors located in the United States. For purposes of this 9
26		-	section, "contracting agency" has the same meaning as provided in 10
27		-	section 4e-1 of the general statutes. 11
