AN ACT REQUIRING FUNDING FOR REGIONAL FIRE TRAINING
SCHOOLS THROUGH APPROPRIATIONS IN THE STATE BUDGET.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require sufficient funds be 1
appropriated to the Department of Emergency Services and Public 2
Protection, from the General Fund, for the fiscal years ending June 30, 3
2025, and June 30, 2026, to fund the nine regional fire training schools, 4
as opposed to providing such funds through any specific taxes or 5
increased surcharges, including, but not limited to, fees on insurance 6
premiums. 7
Statement of Purpose:
To fund the nine regional fire training schools through appropriations
in the state budget and not from any specific taxes or increased
surcharges, including any fees on insurance premiums.
