1818 AN ACT CONCERNING THE STATE ELECTIONS ENFORCEMENT
1919 COMMISSION AND QUALIFYING CONTRIBUTIONS UNDER THE
2020 CITIZENS' ELECTION PROGRAM.
2121 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2222 Assembly convened:

2424 That chapter 157 of the general statutes be amended to require that 1
2525 the State Elections Enforcement Commission, when reviewing the 2
2626 application of a candidate committee for a grant from the Citizens' 3
2727 Election Fund, provide to the treasurer of such candidate committee (1) 4
2828 a list of each contribution to the candidate committee that said 5
2929 commission has not deemed a qualifying contribution, (2) an 6
3030 explanation for each such contribution of why said commission has not 7
3131 deemed it a qualifying contribution, and (3) an opportunity to either (A) 8
3232 cure the defect with the contribution so that it will be deemed a 9
3333 qualifying contribution and accepted toward successful application for 10
3434 such grant, or (B) refund such contribution to the contributor. 11
3535 Statement of Purpose:
3636 To require the State Elections Enforcement Commission to advise of
3737 defects in contributions in applications for Citizens' Election Program Proposed Bill No. 613

4242 grants and to afford campaign treasurers opportunities to cure such
4343 defects or return contributions to contributors.
