AN ACT CONCERNING SIGNATURE VERIFICATION FOR PURPOSES
OF ABSENTEE VOTING.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That chapter 145 of the general statutes be amended to require the 1
Secretary of the State to develop and implement a process by which local 2
election officials processing absentee ballots are able to verify that the 3
signature upon the inner envelope statement of a returned absentee 4
ballot matches the signature upon the corresponding absentee ballot 5
application. 6
Statement of Purpose:
To require the Secretary of the State to develop and implement a process
for verifying the signatures upon returned absentee ballots against the
signatures upon the corresponding absentee ballot applications.
