AN ACT CONCERNING PRIOR AUTHORIZATIONS WHEN AN INSURED OBTAINS NEW HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to prohibit any 1 health insurer from requiring a prior authorization for any health care 2 service or treatment when the insured obtained a prior authorization 3 from such insured's previous health insurer within the same year for 4 such health care service or treatment. 5 Statement of Purpose: To prohibit any health insurer from requiring a prior authorization for any health care service or treatment when the insured obtained a prior authorization from such insured's previous health insurer within the same year for such health care service or treatment.
