AN ACT EXEMPTING NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS FROM THE
INSURANCE AND INDEMNITY BOND REQUIREMENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 14-29 of the general statutes be amended to exempt 1
nonprofit organizations from the insurance and indemnity bond 2
requirements applicable to certain motor vehicle owners pursuant to 3
subsection (a) of said section, provided the Commissioner of Motor 4
Vehicles finds that such nonprofit organization has maintained 5
sufficient financial responsibility to meet legal liability for personal 6
injury, death or damage resulting from or caused by the use or operation 7
of a service bus owned or operated by such nonprofit organization. 8
Statement of Purpose:
To exempt nonprofit organizations from the insurance and indemnity
bond requirements applicable to certain motor vehicle owners pursuant
to subsection (a) of section 14-29 of the general statutes, provided the
Commissioner of Motor Vehicles finds that such nonprofit organization
has maintained sufficient financial responsibility to meet legal liability
for personal injury, death or damage resulting from or caused by the use Proposed Bill No. 681
