AN ACT CONCERNING MOTHERS WHO ARE INCARCERATED
BREASTFEEDING THEIR INFANTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That title 18 of the general statutes be amended to require the 1
Department of Correction to adopt a policy permitting lactating mothers 2
who are incarcerated to breastfeed their infants during visits. 3
Statement of Purpose:
To permit lactating mothers who are incarcerated to breastfeed their
infants during visits.
