DAUPHINAIS, 44th Dist. REP. MASTROFRANCESCO, 80th Dist. AN ACT MAKING SURCHARGES IMPOSED ON MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATIONS OPTIONAL AND LIMITING MOTOR VEHICLE REGISTRATION FEES. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That sections 14-49 and 14-49b of the general statutes be amended to 1 (1) make any surcharge imposed on the registration of a motor vehicle, 2 including the federal Clean Air Act fee and the Passport to the Parks fee, 3 optional for the registrant and require such registrant to agree to pay 4 any such surcharge, and (2) limit the amount of the fee for the 5 registration of a motor vehicle to the actual cost incurred by the 6 Department of Motor Vehicles to process such registration. 7 Statement of Purpose: To provide savings to the registrants of motor vehicles in Connecticut.
