20+MOTION PICTURE ADVERTISEMENTS.
1421 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
1522 Assembly convened:

1724 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2025) (a) As used in this section: 1
1825 (1) "Consumer" means an individual who is (A) physically present in 2
1926 this state, and (B) a prospective purchaser of a ticket to a motion picture 3
2027 exhibition conducted at a motion picture theater in this state; 4
2128 (2) "Motion picture theater" means a movie theater or screening room 5
2229 used to exhibit a motion picture; and 6
2330 (3) "Person" means an individual, association, corporation, 7
2431 partnership, limited liability company, joint stock company, business 8
2532 trust or other legal entity. 9
2633 (b) Each advertisement that is published, aired, displayed or 10
2734 disseminated by or on behalf of a person who owns or operates a motion 11
2835 picture theater in this state shall, if such advertisement is directed at 12
2936 consumers, is intended to promote attendance at a motion picture 13
3037 exhibition conducted at such motion picture theater and states the 14
31-scheduled start time for the motion picture exhibition, include the 15

37-"The actual movie start time may be ten or more minutes after the 17
38-movie start time set forth in this advertisement.". 18
39-(c) The Commissioner of Consumer Protection may adopt 19
40-regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54 of the 20
41-general statutes, to implement the provisions of this section. 21
42-(d) Any person who publishes, airs, displays or disseminates an 22
43-advertisement that does not contain the statement required under 23
44-subsection (b) of this section shall be fined not more than five hundred 24
45-dollars per violation. 25
43+scheduled start time for the motion picture exhibition, separately state: 15
44+(1) The scheduled start time for the motion picture featured in such 16
45+exhibition; and 17
46+(2) The scheduled start time for the advertisements and motion 18
47+picture trailers preceding the motion picture featured in such exhibition. 19
48+(c) The Commissioner of Consumer Protection may adopt 20
49+regulations, in accordance with the provisions of chapter 54 of the 21
50+general statutes, to implement the provisions of this section. 22
51+(d) Any person who publishes, airs, displays or disseminates an 23
52+advertisement that does not contain the statements required under 24
53+subsection (b) of this section shall be fined not more than one thousand 25
54+dollars per violation. 26
