AN ACT REQUIRING LOCAL AND REGIONAL BOARDS OF 
EDUCATION TO PROVIDE TRANSPARENCY IN DIVERSITY, EQUITY 
AND INCLUSION TRAINING MATERIALS. 
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General 
Assembly convened: 
 
That title 10 of the general statutes be amended to require that local 1 
and regional boards of education provide transparency in the training 2 
and instructional materials used to promote diversity, equity and 3 
inclusion and to give parents and students reasonable access to review 4 
such materials by requiring (1) that such board makes the following 5 
information available in an easily accessible location on the board's 6 
Internet web site: (A) All training materials used for staff and faculty 7 
training on all matters relating to nondiscrimination, diversity, equity, 8 
inclusion, race, ethnicity, sex or bias, (B) all instructional or curriculum 9 
materials principally concerning nondiscrimination, diversity, equity, 10 
inclusion, race, ethnicity, sex or bias, and (C) any procedures for the 11 
documentation, review or approval of the training, instructional or 12 
curriculum materials used for staff and faculty training or student 13  Proposed Bill No.  882

instruction at the school, including by the principal, curriculum 14 
administrators or other teachers; and (2) that such information be made 15 
available prior to the first instance of the training or instruction using 16 
such information or not later than seven days after such training or 17 
instruction and that such information remains accessible on such 18 
Internet web site for at least five years after it is last used. 19 
Statement of Purpose:   
To ensure that schools provide transparency in the training and 
instructional materials used to promote diversity, equity and inclusion 
and to give parents and students reasonable access to review such 
materials.
