AN ACT PROHIBITING COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES INVOLVING FOOD
PRODUCTS THAT CONTAIN CERTAIN FOOD ADDITIVES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to provide that no person shall 1
manufacture, sell, deliver, distribute, possess or offer for sale in trade or 2
commerce any food product intended for human consumption if such 3
food product contains (1) red dye number two, (2) red dye number four, 4
(3) green dye number one, (4) green dye number two, (5) violet dye 5
number one, (6) butter yellow dye, (7) orange dye number one, (8) 6
orange dye number two, (9) red dye number forty, (10) yellow dye 7
number five, (11) yellow dye number six, (12) blue dye number one, (13) 8
blue dye number two, (14) carmoisine, or (15) erythrosine. 9
Statement of Purpose:
To prohibit commercial activities involving food products that contain
certain food additives.
