AN ACT REQUIRING BIPARTISAN MEMBERSHIP OF FAIR RENT
COMMISSIONS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
That section 7-148b of the general statutes be amended to require that 1
the membership of each municipal fair rent commission be bipartisan 2
and consist of fifty per cent landlords who own property in such 3
municipality, regardless of whether they reside in such municipality, 4
and fifty per cent tenants who live in such municipality. 5
Statement of Purpose:
To require that the membership of each municipal fair rent commission
be bipartisan and consist of landlords who own property in such
municipality and tenants who reside in such municipality.
