(By Request) AN ACT CONCERNING CONSIDERATION OF GEOGRAPHIC FACTORS WHEN DETERMINING THE LOCATION FOR A PERSON'S JURY SERVICE. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: That chapter 884 of the general statutes be amended to require that a 1 potential juror's geographic proximity to the location of a courthouse be 2 a factor in determining where the jury service is to occur, taking into 3 consideration that a potential juror's place of residence may be in closer 4 geographic proximity to a courthouse located in a different judicial 5 district. 6 Statement of Purpose: To require that a potential juror's geographic proximity to the location of a courthouse be a factor in determining where the jury service is to occur, taking into consideration that a potential juror's place of residence may be in closer geographic proximity to a courthouse located in a different judicial district.
