2323 AN ACT PROHIBITING CERTAIN MERGERS OF UTILITY
2424 COMPANIES, DUAL OWNERSHIP OF GAS AND ELECTRIC UTILITIES
2525 AND DECEPTIVE FEES AND INCENTIVIZING THE ADOPTION OF
2626 ENERGY-EFFICIENT TECHNOLOGY.
2727 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2828 Assembly convened:

3030 That the general statutes be amended to (1) prohibit certain mergers 1
3131 of utility companies, (2) prohibit a utility company from owning both 2
3232 gas and electric utilities, (3) incentivize the adoption of grid-enhancing 3
3333 and energy-efficient technologies and prohibit a public utility company 4
3434 from imposing any fees that would disincentivize the adoption of such 5
3535 technologies, (4) repeal any provision providing a right of first refusal 6
3636 to a utility company concerning the acquisition of property, and (5) 7
3737 prohibit deceptive fees to end use customers of any utility company. 8
