1919 AN ACT REQUIRING PROVISIONAL BALLOTS FOR CERTAIN SAME -
2020 DAY ELECTION REGISTRATION APPLICANTS.
2121 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
2222 Assembly convened:

2424 That section 9-19j of the general statutes be amended to provide that 1
2525 (1) at an election at which federal offices are on the ballot, if the registrars 2
2626 of voters determine while checking the state-wide centralized voter 3
2727 registration system that an applicant has not already been admitted as 4
2828 an elector in a town in the state, such elector shall be provided a 5
2929 provisional ballot for purposes of voting for federal offices only, and (2) 6
3030 all such provisional ballots, after being cast, shall be segregated for the 7
3131 purpose of an audit to confirm that no voter casting such a ballot did 8
3232 not also vote in another state at such election. 9
3333 Statement of Purpose:
3434 To require that certain applicants for same-day election registration be
3535 issued provisional ballots to confirm such applicants have not voted in
3636 multiple states at the same election.
