21 | 21 | Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General | |
22 | 22 | Assembly convened: | |

24 | 24 | That section 8-30g of the general statutes be amended to (1) add 1 | |
25 | 25 | "disabled veteran units" as a new category of housing, which shall be 2 | |
26 | 26 | defined as deed-restricted units that are rented to veterans (A) who (i) 3 | |
27 | 27 | have a disability rating from the United States Department of Veterans 4 | |
28 | 28 | Affairs of at least thirty per cent, or (ii) are at least sixty-five years old, 5 | |
29 | 29 | and (B) whose income is equal to or less than eighty per cent of the 6 | |
30 | 30 | median income, and (2) award municipalities one and one-half housing 7 | |
31 | 31 | unit-equivalent points for each such newly occupied unit. 8 | |
32 | 32 | Statement of Purpose: | |
33 | 33 | To incorporate units specifically set aside for certain disabled or elderly | |
34 | 34 | veterans into the affordable housing policy of section 8-30g of the | |
35 | 35 | general statutes. |
