1219 AN ACT INCREASING THE THRESHOLD FOR SEALED BIDDING ON
1320 CERTAIN MUNICIPAL CONTRACTS.
1421 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

1724 Section 1. Subsection (a) of section 7-148v of the general statutes is 1
1825 repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 2
1926 1, 2025): 3
2027 (a) Notwithstanding the provisions of any municipal charter or any 4
2128 special act to the contrary, any municipality may, by ordinance, 5
2229 establish requirements for competitive bidding for the award of any 6
2330 contract or the purchase of any real or personal property by the 7
2431 municipality. Such ordinance may provide that, except as otherwise 8
2532 required by any provision of the general statutes, sealed bidding shall 9
2633 not be required for contracts or purchases having a value less than or 10
2734 equal to an amount established in the ordinance, which amount shall 11
28-not be greater than [twenty-five] thirty-five thousand dollars. Nothing 12
29-in this section shall be deemed to invalidate any ordinance enacted by a 13
35+not be greater than [twenty-five] fifty thousand dollars. Nothing in this 12
36+section shall be deemed to invalidate any ordinance enacted by a 13
3037 municipality prior to October 1, 1989. Nothing in this section and no 14
3138 ordinance adopted pursuant to this section shall be construed to limit 15
