| 24 | 24 | | Section 1. Subdivision (1) of section 46b-120 of the general statutes is 1 |

| 25 | 25 | | repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective July 1, 2 |

| 27 | 27 | | (1) "Child" means any person under eighteen years of age who has 4 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | not been legally emancipated, except that for purposes of (A) 5 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | delinquency matters and proceedings, "child" means any person who 6 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | [(A)] (i) is at least ten years of age at the time of the alleged commission 7 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | of a delinquent act and who is [(i)] (I) under eighteen years of age and 8 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | has not been legally emancipated, or [(ii)] (II) eighteen years of age or 9 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | older and committed a delinquent act prior to attaining eighteen years 10 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | of age, or [(B)] (ii) subsequent to attaining eighteen years of age, [(i)] (I) 11 |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | violates any order of the Superior Court or any condition of probation 12 |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | ordered by the Superior Court with respect to a delinquency 13 |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | proceeding, or [(ii)] (II) wilfully fails to appear in response to a summons 14 |

| 38 | 38 | | under section 46b-133 or at any other court hearing in a delinquency 15 |
