1819 AN ACT ESTABLISHING A WORKING GROUP TO STUDY AND
1920 DEVELOP BEST PRACTICES TO PROMOTE HOUSING GROWTH

2425 Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a working 1
25-group to develop best practices to promote housing growth and protect 2

4548 chairpersons of the joint standing committee of the General Assembly 18

4750 (8) Two representatives with expertise in state, regional or local 20
4851 planning, appointed by the chairpersons of the joint standing committee 21
4952 of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to 22

5154 (9) Two representatives with expertise in public water supply, 24
5255 appointed by the chairpersons of the joint standing committee of the 25
5356 General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to housing. 26
5457 (c) Any member of the working group appointed under subdivision 27
5558 (1), (2), (7), (8) or (9) of subsection (b) of this section may be a member 28
5659 of the General Assembly. 29
5760 (d) All initial appointments to the working group shall be made not 30
5861 later than thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy 31
5962 shall be filled by the appointing authority. 32
6063 (e) The chairpersons of the joint standing committee of the General 33
6164 Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to housing shall serve 34
6265 as the chairpersons of the working group. Such chairpersons shall 35
6366 schedule the first meeting of the working group, which shall be held not 36
6467 later than sixty days after the effective date of this section. 37
6568 (f) The administrative staff of the joint standing committee of the 38
6669 General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to housing 39
6770 shall serve as the administrative staff of the working group. 40

77+(g) Not later than January 1, 2026, the working group convened 41
7378 pursuant to this section shall submit a report on its findings to the joint 42
7479 standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of 43
7580 matters relating to housing, in accordance with the provisions of section 44
7681 11-4a of the general statutes. The working group shall terminate on the 45
7782 date that it submits such report or January 1, 2026, whichever is later. 46
