18	19		AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUDY ISSUES
19	20		RELATING TO CONSUMER PROTECTION AND OCCUPATIONAL
20	21		LICENSING.
21	22		Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
22	23		Assembly convened:

24	25		Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a task force 1
25	26		to study issues relating to consumer protection and occupational 2
26	27		licensing. 3
27	28		(b) The task force shall consist of the following members: 4
28	29		(1) Two appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives; 5
29	30		(2) Two appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate; 6
30	31		(3) One appointed by the majority leader of the House of 7
31	32		Representatives; 8
32	33		(4) One appointed by the majority leader of the Senate; 9
33	34		(5) One appointed by the minority leader of the House of 10

39	42		(6) One appointed by the minority leader of the Senate; 12
40	43		(7) The Commissioner of Consumer Protection, or the commissioner's 13
41	44		designee; and 14
42	45		(8) Two persons appointed by the Governor. 15
43	46		(c) Any member of the task force appointed under subdivision (1), 16
44	47		(2), (3), (4), (5) or (6) of subsection (b) of this section may be a member 17
45	48		of the General Assembly. 18
46	49		(d) All initial appointments to the task force shall be made not later 19
47	50		than thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall 20
48	51		be filled by the appointing authority. 21
49	52		(e) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president pro 22
50	53		tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force from 23
51	54		among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall schedule 24
52	55		the first meeting of the task force, which shall be held not later than sixty 25
53	56		days after the effective date of this section. 26
54	57		(f) The administrative staff of the joint standing committee of the 27
55	58		General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to consumer 28
56	59		protection shall serve as administrative staff of the task force. 29
57	60		(g) Not later than January 1, 2026, the task force shall submit a report 30
58	61		on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of 31
59	62		the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to 32
60	63		consumer protection, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a 33
61	64		of the general statutes. The task force shall terminate on the date that it 34
62	65		submits such report or January 1, 2026, whichever is later. 35
63	66		This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
