1819 AN ACT ESTABLISHING A TASK FORCE TO STUDY ISSUES
1920 RELATING TO CONSUMER PROTECTION AND OCCUPATIONAL
2021 LICENSING.
2122 Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General

2425 Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) There is established a task force 1
2526 to study issues relating to consumer protection and occupational 2
2627 licensing. 3
2728 (b) The task force shall consist of the following members: 4
2829 (1) Two appointed by the speaker of the House of Representatives; 5
2930 (2) Two appointed by the president pro tempore of the Senate; 6
3031 (3) One appointed by the majority leader of the House of 7

3233 (4) One appointed by the majority leader of the Senate; 9
3334 (5) One appointed by the minority leader of the House of 10

3942 (6) One appointed by the minority leader of the Senate; 12
4043 (7) The Commissioner of Consumer Protection, or the commissioner's 13
4144 designee; and 14
4245 (8) Two persons appointed by the Governor. 15
4346 (c) Any member of the task force appointed under subdivision (1), 16
4447 (2), (3), (4), (5) or (6) of subsection (b) of this section may be a member 17
4548 of the General Assembly. 18
4649 (d) All initial appointments to the task force shall be made not later 19
4750 than thirty days after the effective date of this section. Any vacancy shall 20
4851 be filled by the appointing authority. 21
4952 (e) The speaker of the House of Representatives and the president pro 22
5053 tempore of the Senate shall select the chairpersons of the task force from 23
5154 among the members of the task force. Such chairpersons shall schedule 24
5255 the first meeting of the task force, which shall be held not later than sixty 25
5356 days after the effective date of this section. 26
5457 (f) The administrative staff of the joint standing committee of the 27
5558 General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to consumer 28
5659 protection shall serve as administrative staff of the task force. 29
5760 (g) Not later than January 1, 2026, the task force shall submit a report 30
5861 on its findings and recommendations to the joint standing committee of 31
5962 the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to 32
6063 consumer protection, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a 33
6164 of the general statutes. The task force shall terminate on the date that it 34
6265 submits such report or January 1, 2026, whichever is later. 35
6366 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
