23 | 24 | | Section 1. (NEW) (Effective July 1, 2025) For the fiscal year ending June 1 |

24 | 25 | | 30, 2026, and each fiscal year thereafter, the Department of 2 |

25 | 26 | | Administrative Services shall establish a grant program to reimburse 3 |
---|
26 | 27 | | municipalities, each with a population of not more than ten thousand, 4 |
---|
27 | 28 | | for the cost of fire suppression infrastructure, including, but not limited 5 |
---|
28 | 29 | | to, fire hydrants. Not later than October 1, 2025, the department shall 6 |
---|
29 | 30 | | post in a conspicuous place on the department's Internet web site a 7 |
---|
30 | 31 | | description of the grant program, including, but not limited to, 8 |
---|
31 | 32 | | eligibility criteria and the application process for the program. A 9 |
---|
32 | 33 | | municipality shall apply for such grants on such forms and in such 10 |
---|
33 | 34 | | manner as determined by the department. For purposes of this section, 11 |
---|
34 | 35 | | "municipality" has the same meaning as provided in section 7-323j of the 12 |
