LCO No. 7550 1 of 2 General Assembly Raised Bill No. 1562 January Session, 2025 LCO No. 7550 Referred to Committee on GOVERNMENT OVERSIGHT Introduced by: (GOS) AN ACT CHANGING THE AUTHORIZED USE OF A PARCEL OF STATE LAND PREVIOUSLY CONVEYED TO THE TOWN OF NEWTOWN. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened: Section 1. (Effective from passage) Notwithstanding a certain restriction 1 contained in the deed from the state of Connecticut to the town of 2 Newtown dated July 16, 2004, and recorded in Volume 822 at Pages 632 3 to 638, inclusive, of the town of Newtown Land Records, which requires 4 the town of Newtown to use the parcel of land described as Parcel B in 5 said deed for economic development purposes, said town may use said 6 parcel for open space or recreational purposes. 7 This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: Section 1 from passage New section Statement of Purpose: To remove the deed restriction that a parcel of state land previously conveyed to the town of Newtown be used for economic development purposes to permit its use for open space or recreational purposes.
