AN ACT CONVEYING A PARCEL OF STATE LAND TO THE TOWN OF
CHESHIRE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
Section 1. (Effective from passage) (a) Notwithstanding any provision 1
of the general statutes, the Commissioner of Administrative Services, on 2
behalf of the Commissioner of Correction, shall convey to the town of 3
Cheshire a parcel of land located in the town of Cheshire, at a cost equal 4
to one dollar plus the administrative costs of making such conveyance. 5
Said parcel of land has an area of approximately 1.554 acres and is 6
identified as "Additional Area, 67,690 S.F., 1.554 AC." on a map entitled 7
"Property Survey Prepared for Cheshire Board of Education, Cheshire 8
Bus Depot, 157 Sandbank Road, Cheshire, Connecticut, Scale 1"=40', 9
Date: November 20, 2023, Job: 14246.00008, Field: JG/JPS, Drawn: JMS, 10
Chck'd: MFM, Sheet: 1 of 1", revised April 5, 2024, and is further 11
identified as a portion of the parcel of land containing the Cheshire 12
Correctional Institution. The conveyance shall be subject to the approval 13
of the State Properties Review Board. 14
(b) The town of Cheshire shall use said parcel of land for the purpose 15

of additional space for the adjacent school bus depot located at 157 16
Sandbank Road. If the town of Cheshire: 17
(1) Does not use said parcel for said purpose; 18
(2) Does not retain ownership of all of said parcel; or 19
(3) Leases all or any portion of said parcel, 20
the parcel shall revert to the state of Connecticut. 21
(c) The State Properties Review Board shall complete its review of the 22
conveyance of said parcel of land not later than thirty days after it 23
receives a proposed agreement from the Department of Administrative 24
Services, on behalf of the Department of Correction. The land shall 25
remain under the care and control of the state until a conveyance is 26
made in accordance with the provisions of this section. The State 27
Treasurer shall execute and deliver any deed or instrument necessary 28
for a conveyance under this section, which deed or instrument shall 29
include provisions to carry out the purposes of subsection (b) of this 30
section. The Commissioner of Administrative Services shall have the 31
sole responsibility for all other incidents of such conveyance. 32
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
