2020 RESOLUTION AMENDING THE RULES OF THE SENATE
2121 CONCERNING A FINAL DECISION ON ELECTION CONTESTS.

2424 That the rules of the Senate be amended to provide that, whenever a 1
2525 candidate for the Senate contests the results of an election for such 2
2626 candidate's district, the majority leader and the minority leader shall 3
2727 each appoint two members to form a committee to hold hearings, take 4
2828 testimony and issue a formal and final decision on such contest in 5
2929 accordance with the provisions of section 7 of article third of the 6
3030 Constitution of the state, which process shall prohibit the Secretary of 7
3131 the State from certifying the results of such election until such 8
3232 committee has issued such final decision. 9
3333 Statement of Purpose:
3434 To amend the Senate rules to provide for an equally bipartisan
3535 committee to decide Senate election contests.
