1818 BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this 17
1919 act may be cited as the “Union Court Alley Closing and Public Safety Improvement Act of 18
2020 2023”. 19
2121 Sec. 2 (a) Pursuant to section 404 of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved 20
2222 December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code § 1-204.04), and consistent with the Street 21
2323 and Alley Closing and Acquisition Procedures Act of 1982, effective March 10, 1983 (D.C. Law 22
2424 4-201; D.C. Official Code § 9-201.01 et seq.) (“Act”), the Council finds that a portion of the 23
2525 public alley connected to Union Court, N.W. in Square 358 abutting Lots 53, 54, 55, 56, 60, 61, 24
2626 and 803, is unnecessary for alley purposes and orders it closed. 25
2727 Sec. 3. Fiscal impact statement. 26
2828 The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal 27
2929 impact statement required by section 602(c)(3) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, 28
3030 approved December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code § 1-206.02(c)(3)). 29
3131 Sec. 4. Effective date. 30 2
3232 This act shall take effect upon its approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the 31
3333 Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), and a 30-day period of congressional review 32
3434 as provided in section 603(c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December 33
3535 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code § 1-206.02(c)(1)), and publication in the District of 34
3636 Columbia Register. 35
