17-To amend An Act to provide for the mandatory reporting by physicians and institutions in the
18-District of Columbia of certain physical abuse of children by repeal ing the religious
19-exception to a finding of child neglect.

21-BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
22-act may be cited as the “Losing Outdated, Violent Exceptions Amendment Act of 2024”.

24-Sec. 2. Section 6 of An Act to provide for the mandatory reporting by physicians and
25-institutions in the District of Columbia of certain physical abuse of children, approved November
26-6, 1966 (80 Stat. 1355; D.C. Official Code § 4- 1321.06), is repealed.

28-Sec. 3. Fiscal impact statement.
29-The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal
30-impact statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975,
31-approved October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1- 301.47a).

33-Sec. 4. Effective date.
34-This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the
