23 | | - | BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this |

24 | | - | act may be cited as the “Reed Street Realignment Act of 2023”. |

26 | | - | Sec. 2. (a) Pursuant to section 201 of the Street and Alley Closing and Acquisition |
---|
27 | | - | Procedures Act of 1982, effective March 10, 1983 (D.C. Law 4-201; D.C. Official Code § 9- |

28 | | - | 202.01) ( “Act”), the Council finds that portions of the public alley system in Square 3841 and |
---|
29 | | - | 3846 and the 10-foot-wide portion along the south side of Franklin Street, NE, as shown on the |
---|
30 | | - | Surveyor’s plat in S.O. 22-01115, are unnecessary for street or alley purposes and orders them |
---|
31 | | - | closed with title to the land to vest as shown on the Surveyor’s plat. |
---|
32 | | - | (b) Pursuant to sections 301 and 401 of the Act (D.C. Official Code §§ 9-203.01 and 9- |
---|
33 | | - | 204.01), and notwithstanding the requirements set forth in sections 403 and 421 of the Act (D.C. |
---|
34 | | - | Official Code §§ 9-204.03 and 9-204.21), the Council accepts the dedication of property in |
---|
35 | | - | Squares 3841 and 3846 for public alley purposes and designates the dedicated alley as a portion |
---|
36 | | - | of Reed Street, NE, as shown on the Surveyor’s plat filed under S.O. 22-01115. |
