1919 To amend the School Safety and Security Contracting Procedures Act of 2004 to repeal the 17
2020 dissolution of the Metropolitan Police Department’s School Safety Division 18

2222 BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBI A, That this 20
2323 act may be cited as the “Safe Schools and Safe Students Amendment Act of 2023”. 21
2424 Sec. 2. Section 102(e) of the School Safety and Security Contracting Procedures Act of 22
2525 2004, effective April 13, 2005 (D.C. Law 15-350; D.C. Official Code § 5-132.02(e)), is repealed. 23
2626 Sec. 3. Fiscal impact statement. 24
2727 The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal 25
2828 impact statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975, 26
2929 approved October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1-301.47a). 27
3030 Sec. 4. Effective date. 28
3131 This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the 29
3232 Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), a 30-day period of congressional review as 30
3333 provided in section 602c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December 31
3434 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code § 1-206.02c)(1)), and publication in the District of 32
3535 Columbia Register. 33
