1515 To amend the Comprehensive Policing and Justice Reform Amendment Act of 2022 to simplify 13
1616 the eligibility requirements for Council appointments to the Use of Force Review Board. 14

1818 BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this 16
1919 act may be cited as the “Use of Force Review Board Amendment Act of 2023”. 17
2020 Sec. 2. Section 106(b)(3) of the Comprehensive Policing and Justice Reform 18
2121 Amendment Act of 2022, effective April 21, 2023 (D.C. Law 24-345; D.C. Official Code § 5-19
2222 353.01) is amended by striking the phrase “and no current or prior affiliation with” and inserting 20
2323 the phrase “and no current affiliation with” in its place. 21
2424 Sec. 3. Fiscal impact statement. 22
2525 The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal 23
2626 impact statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975, 24
2727 approved October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1-301.47a). 25
2828 Sec. 4. Effective date. 26
2929 This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the 27
3030 Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), a 60-day period of congressional review as 28
3131 provided in section 602(c)(2) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved December 29
3232 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code § 1-206.02(c)(2)), and publication in the District of 30
3333 Columbia Register. 31
