17-To amend, on a temporary basis, the Pesticide Operations Act of 1977 to clarify that the Mayor
18-may establish categories and subcategories of private pesticide applicators.

20-BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
21-act may be cited as the “Pesticide Operations Temporary Amendment Act of 2024”.

23-Sec. 2. Section 4(b)(3) of the Pesticide Operations Act of 1977, effective April 18, 1978
24-(D.C. Law 2-70; D.C. Official Code § 8-403(b)(3)), is amended by striking the phrase
25-“commercial applicators” and inserting the phrase “commercial and private applicators” in
26-its place.

28-Sec. 3. Fiscal impact statement.
29-The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement of the Budget Director as the fiscal impact
30-statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975, approved
31-October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code § 1-301.47a).

33-Sec. 4. Effective date.
34-(a) This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by
35-the Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto) and a 30-day period of congressional
36-review as provided in section 602(c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved
