13-To recognize and honor the contributions of Patrice “Boog” Harris, a dedicated father, mentor,
14-and boxing coach in the Southwest community.

16-WHEREAS, Patrice Harris has served as a boxing coach for Headbangers Boxing,
17-the premier boxing program under the Department of Parks and Recreation at Bald Eagle
18-Recreation Center in Bellevue neighborhood of Ward 8;

20-WHEREAS, Harris has served a coach at Bald Eagle for a total of 22 years: 4 years
21-as a volunteer and 18 years as an employee of the Department of Parks and Recreation;

23-WHEREAS, Harris recently starred in the film “Creed 3” as a boxing coach for
24-Adonis Creed, who is played by actor Michael B. Jordan;
25-
26-WHEREAS, Harris also served as a behind-the-scenes boxing coach for Jordan to
27-prepare him for the film “Creed 2” after being personally selected by Jordan;

29-WHEREAS, Harris served as a boxing coach and mentor for thousands of young
30-boys and families, primarily African-American, over the course of more than 2 decades;

52- RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTR ICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
53-resolution may be cited as the “Patrice ‘Boog’ Harris Ceremonial Recognition Resolution of

56-Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia honors and celebrates the contributions
57-of Patrice “Boog” Harris to the District and the surrounding community.

59- Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
