16		-	WHEREAS, Patrice Harris has served as a boxing coach for Headbangers Boxing,
17		-	the premier boxing program under the Department of Parks and Recreation at Bald Eagle
18		-	Recreation Center in Bellevue neighborhood of Ward 8;

20		-	WHEREAS, Harris has served a coach at Bald Eagle for a total of 22 years: 4 years
21		-	as a volunteer and 18 years as an employee of the Department of Parks and Recreation;

23		-	WHEREAS, Harris recently starred in the film “Creed 3” as a boxing coach for
24		-	Adonis Creed, who is played by actor Michael B. Jordan;

26		-	WHEREAS, Harris also served as a behind-the-scenes boxing coach for Jordan to
27		-	prepare him for the film “Creed 2” after being personally selected by Jordan;

29		-	WHEREAS, Harris served as a boxing coach and mentor for thousands of young

52		-	RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTR ICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
53		-	resolution may be cited as the “Patrice ‘Boog’ Harris Ceremonial Recognition Resolution of
54		-	2023”.

56		-	Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia honors and celebrates the contributions
57		-	of Patrice “Boog” Harris to the District and the surrounding community.

59		-	Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

	53	+	Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia honors and celebrates the 52
	54	+	contributions of Patrice “Boog” Harris to the District and the surrounding community. 53
