18		-	WHEREAS, Reverend A. Michael Charles Durant is Pastor of the Tenth Street Baptist
19		-	Church, located in the historic Shaw neighborhood of the District of Columbia;

21		-	WHEREAS, Pastor Durant is a native of Buffalo, NY and has the distinction of being an
22		-	Oxford Fellow of St Antony’s College of the University of Oxford in Oxford, England;

24		-	WHEREAS, Pastor Durant recently served as the immediate past President of the Baptist
25		-	Convention of D.C. and Vicinity;

27		-	WHEREAS, 2023 marks the 35th year of Reverend Durant's tenure as Pastor of the Tenth
28		-	Street Baptist Church;

30		-	WHEREAS, Pastor Durant has been a constant for the church and neighborhood over the
31		-	last 35 years, witnessing this community’s change and growth;

33		-	WHEREAS, the Tenth Street Baptist Church family takes pride in the accomplishments
34		-	of Pastor Durant and his longevity in leading the congregation for 35 years, being a good steward
35		-	of what God has called him to do and committed to maintaining spiritual excellence; and

37		-	WHEREAS, the Tenth Street Baptist Church will celebrate the 35th Anniversary of their
38		-	beloved and anointed Pastor, Reverend A. Michael Charles Durant, on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

40		-	RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
41		-	resolution may be cited as the “Reverend A. Michael Charles Durant 35th Anniversary
42		-	Celebration Recognition Resolution of 2023”.

48		-	years of service at the Tenth Street Baptist Church and his contributions and commitment to the
49		-	congregation, the Shaw neighborhood, and the District at large.

51		-	Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
	38	+	RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this 33
	39	+	resolution may be cited as the “Reverend A. Michael Charles Durant 35th Anniversary 34
	40	+	Celebration Recognition Resolution of 2023”. 35
	41	+	Sec. 2. The Council recognizes and honors Reverend A. Michael Charles Durant for 35 36
	42	+	years of service at the Tenth Street Baptist Church and his contributions and commitment to the 37
	43	+	congregation, the Shaw neighborhood, and the Distract at large. 38
	44	+	Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon the first date of publication in 39
	45	+	the District of Columbia Register. 40
