15		-	year career in the entertainment industry, including significant contributions as a DJ,

18		-	WHEREAS, John “DJ Kool” Bowman was born in Southeast DC in 1958 and is a
19		-	lifelong DC resident;

21		-	WHEREAS, Mr. Bowman began his career as a disc jockey in 1977, at the age of 19
22		-	years old;

24		-	WHEREAS, Mr. Bowman released his first single in 1986, with a track entitled, The
25		-	Music Ain’t Loud Enuff;

27		-	WHEREAS, Mr. Bowman achieved critical success with the release of another single,
28		-	Let Me Clear My Throat, which charted internationally on the Billboard Hot 100 and in the top
29		-	ten of charts in the Netherlands and United Kingdom, and has sold over 600,000 copies to date,
30		-	and has been featured in movies, live athletic events, and many other settings;
