15 RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this 
16 resolution may be cited as the "Violence Fatality Review Committee Dr. Eric Li Confirmation

In 2017, I became Chief Medical Officer in United medical Center on interim basis	. This 
is most senior position. United medical Center belongs to Washington DC and one of 
oldest public hospital in the country. I was responsible for managing the operation of the 	entire hospital. I served as a member of the hospital’s board of directors. Since assume 
this position, we overcome paramount challenges. We are currently building a new 
hospital together with George Washington University	.

During this period, I served as the attending physician at the New York University 	Medical Center.  It was an academic setting that utilized a multiple discipline approach.  
The hospital is famous for the complex cases it receives and the expertise among its 
Pathologists.   I was a key member of the surgical pathology team and was responsible 
for the selection and recruiting of pathology fellowship candidates. I was engaged in 
cancer research and maintained an American Cancer Society grant. I also teach medical 
students. I have given 	lectures on Tuberculosis infection and was the Lab leader on

Dr. Eric Li was brought on at United Medical Center as the Chairman 
of the Department of pathology in 2016. In 2017, Dr. Eric Li became 
Interim Chief Medical Officer at United M	edical Center, one of the 
oldest public hospital s in the country. While there, he was responsible 
for managing the operations of the entire hospital, and has even served 
as a member of the hospital’s B	oard of Directors. Since assuming the 
role as Interim Chief Medical Officer, he has helped the hospital 
overcome paramount challenges. In September 2019 his time as 
Interim Chief Medical Officer ended, and he continues to serve as the 
Chairman of the hospital’s Pathology department.    
 
Dr. Li has been studying medicine since 1978, appeared in several publications and conducted
