Wilson Building | 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, Suite 600 | Washington, DC 20004 Kelly Crawford Kelly Crawford is the Senior Policy Advisor for Energy Equity and Environmental Justice at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (“DOE”) Office of Economic Impact and Diversity and serves as DOE's Senior Environmental Justice representative on the White House Environmental Justice Interagency Council. Ms. Crawford is an award-winning subject matter expert with more than a decade of technical experience in environmental science and engineering, energy policy, climate change, emergency management and response, and environmental justice and equity. A native Washingtonian, Ms. Crawford has been at the forefront of developing innovative strategies that promote pollution reduction to mitigate environmental impacts to vulnerable communities through a comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks, coupled with technical expertise and a firm commitment to inclusive decision-making processes. She previously served as Senior Advisor for Energy Equity & Environmental Justice for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and continues to work within DOE to craft policies that not only priorities environmental protection but also facilitate equitable access to the benefits of clean energy. Prior to joining DOE, Ms. Crawford served as the State Air pollution control officer for the District of Columbia Department of Energy and Environment as Associate Director of the Air Quality Division where she established and led the Department’s inaugural equity committee, developing and implementing a Racial Equity Framework, a racial equity impact tool, and conducted Environmental Justice and Racial Equity training within the department.
