| 25 | | - | (“emergency act”), which expires on June 9, 2024. |

| 26 | | - | (b) On March 5, 2024, the Council also passed the Secure DC Omnibus Amendment Act |

| 27 | | - | of 2024, enacted on March 11, 2024 (D.C. Act 25-411; 71 DCR 2732) (“permanent act”), which |

| 28 | | - | has a projected law date of July 23, 2024. |

| 29 | | - | (c) This emergency legislation is necessary to prevent a gap in the law between the |

| 30 | | - | expiration of the emergency act and the effective date of the permanent act. |
