To confirm the reappointment 
of John R. McGuire to the Board 	of Funeral Directors. 
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, that this 
resolution may be cited as the "Board 
of Funeral Directors John 	R. McGuire Confirmation 
Resolution 
of 2024". 
Sec. 
2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the reappointment of:

(Ward 4) 
as a funeral director licensed in the District member 	of the Board of Funeral Directors, 
established by D.C. Official 
Code§ 47-2853.06(±), for a term to end March 	1, 2026.

3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy 	of this resolution, 
upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office 
of the Mayor.

Mr. John R. McGuire is the Vice President and Funeral Director of McGuire 
Funeral Service, Inc. 
Having over 35 years of experience as a Funeral Director, he brings vast 
knowledge and expertise. In 2012, the company celebrated its 100
th
 
anniversary. 
The Federal Emergency Management Agency, in partnership with the 
National Funeral Directors Association, awarded Mr. McGuire with the 
Certified Disaster Coordinator designation for completing the in-	residence 
training course. He is also a certified West Virginia Death Investigator.  
A Ward 4 resident, Mr. McGuire earned his Associate of Arts in 	Mortuary Science from 	the
