189189 Episcopal Church of The Atonement in Southeast Washington, DC.
190190 Rev. Sheppard has served in different capacities with returning citizens,
191191 including as a volunteer at the Juvenile Justice Commission in
192192 Bordentown, NJ , and a s the Prison Partnership Coordinator for Hudson
193193 River Presbytery in Scarborough, NY. His church currently supports the
194194 Mayor’s Office of Returning Citizens with aid such as clothing, toys for
195195 Children during the holidays and transportation assistance. He is also
196196 very aware of the barriers that affect returning citizens as he has had to
197197 overcome many of them himself.
198198 Rev. Sheppard enlisted in the United States Marine Corps directly out
199199 of high school and served with distinction until he was honorably discharged in 1993.
200200 A Ward 7 resident, M r. Sheppard earned his Bachelor of Arts from the College of New Rochelle
